Lighting in the game is categorically important. Correct setting will create the gaming atmosphere you need, and also will not cause brakes and lags on the devices of your players.
I would also like to mention the creation of additional visual effects and staging of cinematic scenes. Without the right lighting, this cannot be done in a quality manner.
At the same time, if you can shift all the work on scripting and animation to ready-made Unity Asset solutions, then in the case of lighting (like physics) you need to do all the basic settings yourself. Specialized plugins can add effects. Everything else is your choice, decision and the result of the implementation of the concept of your project.
The course lasts about 1.5 hours. It covers all the basic aspects of lighting setup in Unity. If you want a more in-depth study of the topic – leave comments. We will continue to add new lessons, stay tuned!
